ADVANTAGES OF USING ZIG ALIGNA:

• Better hooking and less tendency to spit the bait - Creates a much wider hooking angle than standard knotless knot or Zig Bug fishing (no foam or fluff hindering hook penetration) and increases the chance of hooking a fish.

• Higher hooking potential - The Aligna cap ensures the bait is always centered. The disadvantage of a knotless knot is that on thinner lines, the hair naturally slides to one side, causing the hook to penetrate less effectively.

• Ability to use stronger knots - Allows you to tie the hook to the leader using Palomar or Grinner knots, rather than a knotless knot. These are much stronger and protect the leader from damage by the hook eye during the fight with the fish.

• Much more cost-effective - When the hook becomes blunt, simply slide the Aligna cap onto the leader and tie a new hook. In contrast, with Zig Bug type baits, a blunt hook means discarding the entire thing, which is very costly.

• Imitates the shape of a hatching larva – Most Zig Bug baits imitate insects that do not live in water, which is pointless when looking for natural imitations. The shape of the Zig Aligna cap with the inserted foam imitates the shape of a nymph with a thin, curved abdomen and a large head.
